Grateful for the People Who Make This All Work

As Thanksgiving gets closer, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’m thankful for — at home, and here at 27 Contracting. The holiday season always slows things down just enough to remind me what really matters.

First and foremost, our families. They’re the reason we push through long days, chase big goals, and show up ready to work even when we’re tired. They’re our support system, our cheerleaders, and the people we can’t wait to sit around the table with every Thanksgiving. That time together means everything.

But as much as I think about the comfort and joy of gathering with my own family, I can’t help but remember a Thanksgiving a few years back — one that looked very different from today.

We were working a customer’s emergency water damage job, right in the middle of their kitchen. It wasn’t pretty, and it definitely wasn’t planned. We ended up staying in that home until 11pm the night before Thanksgiving, doing everything we could to get their kitchen safe, usable, and ready so they could gather with their family the next day.

It was late. We were exhausted. But we didn’t leave until we knew they’d be able to enjoy their holiday without worrying about damage, drying equipment, or a torn-apart kitchen. And honestly? That’s the kind of work that sticks with you. That’s the kind that reminds you why you do this.

Because our clients — like our team — feel a lot like family.

We’ve shared long days, tight deadlines, stressful repairs, big wins, and even a few miracles. And every time someone trusts us with their home, we feel that responsibility in a real way.

This year, I’m incredibly thankful for:

  • Our families, who support everything we do.

  • Our team, who shows up with heart and hustle every single day.

  • Our clients, who let us step into their homes and become a small part of their lives.

As we gather around our tables this Thanksgiving, we’ll be thinking about the people who’ve supported us, encouraged us, and trusted us with their homes throughout the year.

If you’re already part of the 27 Contracting family, thank you — truly.

And if you’re not part of the family yet?

We’d love for you to pull up a chair.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at 27 Contracting.
