    OWNER

    With more than 30 years in renovation and home improvement, James leads our team with the steady perspective that only comes from real, hands-on experience. He’s seen just about every problem a home can throw at you—and knows how to fix it the right way.

    An Eagle Scout by background, James learned early the importance of integrity, hard work, and doing right by others. Those values continue to guide how he works today and how our company shows up for its clients.

    A father, grandfather, and lifelong builder at heart, James is known as the person you call when something needs to be figured out—and done well. Whether he’s on a jobsite or in his garage after hours, he brings patience, craftsmanship, and a genuine desire to help.

    James sets the tone for 27 Contracting: honest work, done with care, and done right the first time.

    Richard Freeman

    OPERATIONS MANAGER

    Richard is an Army veteran, a father of three boys, and the operational backbone of 27 Contracting. As Operations Manager, he oversees scheduling, coordination, and client communication—making sure projects run smoothly and expectations stay clear from start to finish.

    With more than 10 years of hands-on experience in carpentry, renovations, and full project oversight, Richard understands the work from the ground up. That experience allows him to connect planning with execution, anticipate issues before they arise, and keep projects moving efficiently.

    Detail-oriented and process-driven, Richard focuses on creating a reliable, organized experience for every client. His goal is simple: smooth projects, honest communication, and results people can trust.

    Alonzo Carreon

    FIELD SERVICES SPECIALIST

    Alonzo is a dedicated tradesman with over three years of hands-on experience, bringing energy, reliability, and a strong work ethic to every project he’s part of. As a Field Services Specialist, he shows up ready to work, willing to jump in where needed, and committed to doing the job the right way.

    Known for his positive attitude and attention to detail, Alonzo takes pride in his craft and approaches each task with care and focus. Whether he’s handling repairs, assisting with renovations, or supporting larger projects, he consistently delivers dependable, quality work.

    Always eager to learn and improve, Alonzo is constantly building his skill set—picking up new techniques and refining his approach on the job site. His commitment to growth, teamwork, and craftsmanship makes him a valued member of our crew and a familiar, friendly face our clients enjoy working with.

    Copper

    CHIEF MORALE OFFICER

    Copper is the heart and unofficial mascot of the team—a friendly labradoodle who takes his role as Chief Morale Officer very seriously. Whether he’s greeting the crew in the morning or quietly supervising from a nearby spot, he has a knack for lifting spirits and keeping things light.

    Known for his loyalty to James and his love of friendly faces, Copper brings calm, warmth, and the occasional distraction to busy workdays. He may not be on the tools, but he plays an important role in reminding us to slow down, enjoy the work, and take care of the people around us.

    Off duty, Copper can usually be found exploring the outdoors, sneaking the occasional snack from the grandkids, or settling in for a well-earned nap—often right in the middle of foot traffic.

    He might not carry a hammer, but around here, no workday feels quite complete without him.
